Attaining Real Calm is one of the later steps on the Quest for Good Times. Chians with a high enough Good Times Quotient may unexpectedly find themselves having to deal with Real Calm, so it is important to be aware of the intricacies involved.
The path to Good Times is fraught with danger and sacrifice, and Chians will often find themselves ridiculed, scorned and rejected by "normal" society.
However, Chians dedicated to GTQ amelioration will eventually find themselves close to Real Calm, that state of being when no matter what the issues or problems of the day may be, the Chian Adept feels at rest in a manner like none before.
When presented with Real Calm, the Chian will certainly spend a lot of time on the edge of what could seem to be a very dangerous precipice. Real Calm is not a state of being to be taken on lightly.
Experience has proven that when the next step on the Quest leads to Real Calm, much thought and preparation is required. Specifically, Chians who blunder into Real Calm without cleaning house may find themselves set back years and can suffer a disproportionately huge loss of Good Times.
The Vice Pope counsels all Chians to be aware that one day, at it's most unexpected, Real Calm will arrive with full force, and the only thing a Chian can do is wonder when.
Many Chians may find that the best course of action will be to eschew Real Calm, and instead take its appearance as a sign that there is much work to be done, and that completion of previous minor Quests is of paramount importance.
Finish what you have started, and keep a clean house. Good Times cannot be had when there are Bad Times lurking behind every corner. |
